New Years resolutions......

Resolutions. We all have them. The standard ones are always:

Lose weight and get healthy.

goals, weight loss, fitness, challenge

Why do we have to wait till a new year to get better with these things?

November and December are the slowest times of year for diet programs, gyms and any kind of workouts. People have resigned themselves to gaining weight and somewhat going to hell the last month or so. I don't get this. The holidays are the most stressful time of year. Exercise is a huge stress reliever. The holidays are often times we see friends and family we haven't seen in months or years, yet we are often our heaviest at that time. By simply just using portion control skills you don't have to gain a pound during these last few months of the year.

To be brutally honest. Using new years resolutions to "start" anything is simply just an excuse to put it off.

I am just as guilty as all of you for using this excuse. No, not in the health and fitness area. In fact I focus on eating better and working out harder this time of year. But, I have some big plans on my plate for 2015. I don't just have resolutions, I have goals. I have both these things written down. When you write them down they become more real. TRY IT.

So whats on my list?

  • Shut down more often. I am often connected to work and email way beyond work hours. I need to focus more time with my family.
  • Help another 100 people reach their health and fitness goals
  • Continue to improve my relationship with food by eating cleaner and not stress eating.
  • Get more organized
  • Let go of things I cannot control (this is a big one for me because it often consumes me)
  • Get into a smaller size pair of jeans
Now that I have them written down i will focus on steps to achieve these goals individually by creating smaller deadlines within the goals during the year. This way, the goal are more attainable as smaller steps.

Don't bite off more than you can chew...

This is a tip for fitness and weight loss too. Be sure to find a fitness program thats not only right for your fitness level but something that you enjoy. If you like high intensity exercises, don't sign up for yoga and vice versa...

And follow a program. Ever walk into a gym the first week in January? Its SWAMPED. people will go hard core for hours at a time. Most of them will quit within a few weeks. Don't do this. Find a program. follow it. Don't go to extremes or you will burn out.

When it comes to diet. DONT DIET. Eat responsibly. Portion control and moderation. ITS key. repeating my line from above....Don't go to extremes or you will burn out.

I am can help you find a program thats right for you. I can help you find a meal plan thats right for you. I can provide you with support thats better than you could ever imagine.

And guess what? You don't have to wait for Jan first to start on your goals :)
