Reflection of the day.....

When I woke up today I just didn't feel like working out. However, this is a lifestyle and I knew if i didn't I would feel guilty and crappy about myself all day. This is silly and I know it. My body would not change missing a workout. I wouldn't get fat. Not a soul would notice. But exercise is part of me and I feel it when I miss it. But I am also very conscience that this is part of "my issues". Having previously had an eating disorder in my 20's...this guilt is just an extension of that. This is something I work on every day. I work hard, I eat right most of the time. I should feel good about that, whether I miss a workout or not. I reflect upon this alot....especially because I have a daughter.

As I watch her with her friends I am amazed at her confidence her grace and her overall personality. I am very conscious of not speaking of diets, negativity regarding my body and my lack of confidence in front of her. I wonder when we lose this confidence. At what stage do social pressure catch up to us and make us question our worth? Why do we connect our body images to our worth? We can be the smartest people in the word but once we question our beauty why do we lose that worth? I use to think this was just me but its not...its everywhere. I will do whatever I can to not have this story be the same for my daughter. At 4 she's not going to get it...but I will help her. I will show her beauty is on the inside. Exercise and eating well is for good health and to feel good.

I can honestly say Beachbody has helped me. Shakes have helped, the amazing workouts have helped but you know what really made the magic?! The people. The support. The challenge groups that keep me accountable. The stories that sound like mine. The openness of peoples lives and hearts to help one another. And right now...the fact that I have become a leader to many. To be needed in another capacity...to help and motivate others. To help them reach their goals. The positivity I receive from the help I am providing drives me and fulfills me in a way I never new possible. Makes me want to drive harder, help more people..because in turn, it helps me. I get healthier about my attitude regularly now. I may never feel 100% but I sure am better. Thank you to those letting me help them on their journeys. I truly have an amazing team and look forward to growing it more with pride and confidence...


Courage

Its been a few days since my last blog. Life gets busy as we all know. This is one of the key reasons I get my workouts in at 5am. Today wasnt a great workout for me. In week 3 of asylum and bringing a friend through a PIYO workout last night has left me insanely sore. Now, although I love this feeling, it hurt my workout this morning. Definately was not at 100%. This is when i usually beat myself up. Not anymore though. I gave it my best and my body was telling me I had to tone it down.

Rest days and focusing on what matters

So asylum has really been kicking my butt. So saturday was a scheduled rest day, but I actually took Sunday off too. I could really tell my body needed it and over training doesnt help anything.

However, we went for a great hike today. Hiking was one of me and my husband favorite things to do before kids. As the kids activities got crazy our hiking days were rare. But now, as sports have finally ended for the season we are bringing back Sunday hikes! The kids love it  and now that they are a bit older its even more fun. What i love most about it is that its nature, its no electronics, its chatter, its discovery, its active..its family time at its finest. This is what its all about. Love these days.

Friday...finally!!!

Let me tell you what! Its been a tough week. Its my first week of doing the Asylum workout (sports training to the max!!!!) Its great but i really didn't think Shaun T could be tougher than in Insanity but HE IS in Asylum. I am super sore and excited to have a rest day tomorrow.

I will say, I am enjoying it but sometimes it feels defeating. I thought I was in shape. This is just proving to me again how very important it is to cross train,and  have variety in your workouts! beachbody has so many great programs you should never ever be bored. I also find that drinking the energy and endurance drink before these tough workouts really help..

This morning, my 4 year old daughter woke up early. As I was in my cool down she tested out the agility ladder with some push-ups.  As much as I am annoyed she was up so early, i am happy that I am showing her how important exercise is. As parents we have to be role models....leading by example.

Love my shakeology

So, I am just not great about always eating right and drinking enough water. Today, I made a promise to myself I would be better than yesterday! I mean, i sure have learned that you have to take it one day at a time. Luckily, the shakes give me all my nutrients but I know i have to be good the rest of the day. Did you know you should be drinking half your weight in ounces of water per day? I tested this out and it did make a huge difference in weight loss and how i felt. So today....I will do this.

All Me...Being Insanely Honest---


I am trying to be better about blogging. Its definately out of my comfort zone to be completely transparent...but here goes.

I have abused my body for years. eating too much, eating too little, getting too big, getting too small, eating disorders, diet pill abuser. You name it I have done it. As i have had children i knew i had to get myself in check.  Exercise was always a passion and sometimes a compulsion. I needed balance. I needed health and i needed to get a hold of myself for myself and my family.

I was doing ok...good days and bad days....still always struggled with my body image....

Then in December i started coaching for beachbody. Really to just get the discount on the shakes i loved. But then I had people buying from me and needing me for motivation and inspiration. I found my calling. I HAD to be healthy if I was trying to teach others to be. As a mom, i had aslways compromised for others. would do everything for others. So, yes, my health started because other people needed me to be a role model. What I got out of this was amazing.

I have a grown an amazing team and my team has helped me grow into being a better, healthier me.

I no longer abuse myself. I no longer hate myself (although some days are better than others) and i have found that this passion for health and fitness is not only in my heart and soul but its paying bills too. I have been blessed in so many ways...it was the kick i needed and I am never going back!
